The aim of the Department of Social Development, Western Cape Government is to employ two (2) suitable individuals to ensure effective and efficient access to state financing in accordance with national and provincial legislation, policy and financial instructions within the section. The successful incumbents must possess the following personal attributes: Innovative, pragmatic and creative. These posts are based in Cape Town.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) or equivalent qualification.
Recommendation Relevant work experience.

Key Performance Areas

To evaluate and process prescribed documents for payment; Monitor compliance and identify non compliance with prescribed policy/legislation and funding conditions; Monitor submissions and evaluate financial statements as well as do conjugated calculations; Render a support function to the senior staff; Render a support function to programme offices in line with the Departments Integrated Service Delivery Model.


A good understanding of the following: Policy of financial awards, PFMA (Public Finance Management Act); NPO (Non Profit Organisation) Act; Treasury prescripts; Financial delegations; Proven computer literacy; Communication (written and verbal) skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape; Ability to manage conflict; Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.


R 163 563 per annum (Salary Level 5)

Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees’ service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
