Job Description


Provide continuous assistance to managers and employees in the Company with respect to HR Policies and Procedures including employee relations, engagement, recruitment, benefits, legislation, wellness and health and safety programs. Ensure that all employee files and other legislative aspects are beyond reproach.


QUALIFICATION: Applicable Tertiary Qualification in Human Resources, Organisational /Industrial Psychology or People Management.


  • Minimum of 2 years experience in the same or similar position
  • Familiar with all legislature and amendments with regards to Human Resources (LRA, BCEA, EEA, SDA, OHSA, COIDA)
  • Familiarity with Sectoral Determination 14 advantageous
  • Level 2 minimum Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook in particular)
  • Familiar with VIP Premier Payroll System

Training and Development

  • Assist the managers with the Development Plans of their employees
  • Maintain the database for the Skills Development and Training information
  • Run the Induction Program for all new staff members in VNL Hospitality.
  • Ensure that the Induction Program is followed by all Products
  • Track that all probationary reviews with employees are done on time and correctly
  • Track and Capture the submission of the HR Status Forms and assist the managers with completion of this form.
  • Organise training programs that will develop staff in a positive direction
  • Assist with maintaining the training manuals within the company
  • Manage access to the Training Files for the employees and ensure that no files go missing


  • Ensure that the correct Recruitment Process is followed for all new recruits and internal promotions/transfers in the Company
  • Act as liaison with the dedicated recruitment consultants of the company

Standards, Policies and Procedures

  • Assist in maintaining the compensation standards set by the company
  • Ensure that the Purchase Order Procedure is followed at all times
  • Assist the managers to remain within the budgets of their manplan
  • Ensure that the dress code procedures for your department is in place and that all employees are neat and tidy.
  • Ensure that fair and equitable discipline is applied.
  • Assist the managers in maintaining their staff files.
  • Ensure leave planners and policies are followed
  • Ensure regular communication on HR Services to operational managers
  • Do regular audits of the VIP database and assist Payroll in maintaining it up to date and correct
  • Assist Payroll with the submission of the Pension Fund Withdrawal Forms when required


  • Assist with management of the Employment Equity, Skills Development and BBBEE statutory compliance
  • Organise the quarterly Employment Equity Forum Meetings
  • Manage the Employment Equity Forum representations
  • Be the contact for all Injuries on Duties within the group and ensure compliance with the COID Act
  • Follow all COIDA cases from submission to completion and keep full records

Human Resources

  • Provide Support to the Group HR Manager
  • Maintain an open-door policy with all employees to improve employee engagement and employee relations.
  • Participate in HR networks and community programs
  • Develop PR publications on the benefits and opportunities available for staff members
