Living Room Restaurant & Events Venue Needs Senior Manager

Living Room is a unique rooftop café and event space in the vibrant inner city precinct of Maboneng, where we’ve managed to create a remarkable blend of the natural and the urban. Our passionately designed space and panoramic city views make the perfect backdrop for any rooftop event.

Our trendy upmarket restaurant and private events venue in Maboneng is looking for a general manager with hands-on experience and the ability to motivate and lead the team with a strong emphasis on delivering top-notch service.

Salary negotiable depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all front and back of house staff including floor managers
  • Ensure the prompt and efficient service
  • Ensure that the service areas are clean and well maintained
  • Ensure that company and statutory hygiene standards are maintained at all time
  • Ensure the furniture, floor layout, and aesthetics of the venue are maintained
  • Circulate throughout the service areas, maintaining a high profile with customers and staff
  • Ensure that faults and defects are reported to maintenance and actioned without delay
  • To liaise with directors and notify areas needing attention
  • To liaise with marketing managing and sales team on private and public events
  • Attend timeously to customer complaints and owner complaints
  • Attend to special requests made by customers
  • Ensure that all stocks and supplies are timeously requested, correct stock levels maintained by partaking and supervising daily stock takes with the bartenders
  • Drive turnover/come up with revenue driving initiatives

Minimum requirements:

  • Minimum two years experience as a general manager of a restaurant
  • Experience on Point Of Sale (POS) systems, [preferably GAAP]
  • Proficiency with stock takes, variances, controls and cash-ups
  • Fully computer literate
  • Drivers License and own reliable transport
  • A formal hospitality/food and beverage management qualification will be an advantage
  • Well spoken and well groomed with exceptional customer relations skills
  • Good under pressure and able to think on your feet
  • Must be a South African Citizen with a valid ID doc or must have a valid work permit
  • Must be prepared to work late shifts, weekends etc
  • Ambitious, self-motivated and energetic
  • Good contactable references
  • Understanding and experience in staff disciplinary processes
