Ackermans Is Hiring Buying Analyst and Customer Service Officer

We are looking for a resilient, confident and efficient individual who can think laterally and who has the ability to analyse and provide cross functional insight relating to all Buying functions within Ackermans.
Qualifications Essential:
• A Grade 12 Certificate/Matric

• A relevant degree /qualification in Fashion, Textile Design /Clothing Production/ Product Development /Merchandising, or a related field
Knowledge, Skills and Experience KNOWLEDGE required:
• Knowledge of the retail merchandise cycle with regards to Buying, Planning, Systems and Logistics
• Knowledge of buying principles & strategies
• Understanding of retail business systems and related processes
• A comprehensive knowledge/understanding of SA’s retail clothing market, customers and competitors

SKILLS required:
• Latest Microsoft applications including advanced Excel competency
• A sound ability to analyse and work with numerical data
• The ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the company
• Merchant skills & a sound commercial mentality
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Exceptional planning, organizing & time management skills
• The ability to be resilient, have tenacity and maintain high levels of drive and initiative under pressure
• Networking skills & the ability to be resourceful
• The ability to prioritise
• The ability to be assertive
• The ability to work independently, as well as be a team player

EXPERIENCE required:
• 3-5 years retail buying experience in clothing/footwear/homeware
Key Responsibilities • Product, Process and Buying Systems analysis in order to provide strategic insights to improve & evolve processes
• To be responsible for central collation, governance & effective use of all Buying SOP’s
• To continuously report from a centralised view on all Buying KPI’s (ex. Promotional items, balance of range, competitive shopping, pricing hierarchy, forex etc.)
• Responsible for documenting and sharing of minutes post important Buying forums/meetings
• To ensure that all Buying documentation is standardized Strategic Business Units (SBUs) and effectively formatted in accordance to best practice
• To deliver consolidated marketing briefs on a monthly basis in line with the Company’s promotional calendar
• To provide collation /roll-up of cross-functional Buying information required within Ackermans
• To provide input into Buying system enhancements for effective reporting resources
• To facilitate consistency across all merchandise divisions by ensuring systems, processes and policies are in place.
